ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in APQP activities with cross-functional team.
  • Perform PPAPs.
  • Performed problem solving activities, Implement and coordinate external and internal containment activities, lead root cause analysis, define and implement effective corrective actions, and communicate in a properly way through 8Ds reports, customer portals and ARIMS.
  • Manage customer / supplier quality issues, and control non-conforming material based on Corrective actions procedure.
  • Travel with/without notice to customer sites with overnight stay as necessary.
  • Provide guidance to PPAP coordinators on quality records and documents.
  • Develop and update PFMEA, Control Plan, Operator Instructions, and other Quality System documentation.
  • Update quality core documents and master template to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in production.
  • Monitor and manage scorecards of the assigned customers.
  • Monitor and review Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional team in resolving quality concerns with effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
  • Interact with internal and external customers with quality directives and customer specific requirements.
  • Assist Quality Manager in preparing for customer quality surveys, audits, or reviews.
  • Coordinate ordering of Gages and Fixtures as required from APQP kick off.
  • Completion of required MSA studies
  • Work together with cross-functional team on continuous improvement projects
  • Perform product, process and system audit, as required.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance of the plant to IATF 16949 and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
  • Under guidance of Quality Manager establish plant quality standards, procedures or policies as needed.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as identified in company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other Quality related function, as assigned, by Quality Manager
  • Visit customer and supply base as required.
  • Determines part acceptability of complex layouts through an accurate and detailed layout using CMM and other advanced measurement systems.
  • Ability to program CMM and other advanced measurement systems.
  • Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.
  • Ability to complete Product Validation testing per the DVP&R developed by Product Engineering. Testing includes following various testing standards, use of various testing equipment, and reporting test results.
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T requirements.
  • Technical and/or statistical training in Metrology and SPC
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
     
 Education, Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in experience; or four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or in lieu of a degree one or more years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in a similar business environment.  Automotive industry experience is preferred (including injection molding and assembly processes), experience with OEM’s and use of their portals.  IATF and/or ISO 9000 experience is required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S.

 

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
  • Frequent computer usage.
