Position Summary: The Business Development Manager is accountable for the NA Energies business unit performance, including revenue growth, margin improvement, portfolio competitiveness, customer satisfaction, and delivery of the business line roadmap. This role focuses on product/application strategy, market development, and commercial execution for defined product families, ensuring adoption and growth across targeted applications. The Business Development Manager serves as the cross-functional leader for the North America Energies business unit collaborating with Engineering, Sales teams, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Marketing to define, develop, and grow product applications that meet evolving customer and industry needs. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Own the commercial strategy for assigned products and applications across the value chain.
- Define the product roadmap, including targeted systems and emerging market needs.
- Identify and validate new energies application opportunities through customer visits, system-level benchmarking, and collaboration with Engineering and Innovation.
- Support product lifecycle management including launch, growth, optimization, phase out, and migration to new technologies.
- Develop growth plans for the Energies business lines, including platform targets, supplier penetration, and application-specific revenue goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, regulatory impacts, and customer technology roadmaps affecting product relevance.
- Lead commercial activities for application-specific opportunities, commercial reviews, and long-term agreements, ensuring alignment with pricing guidelines and profitability targets.
- Work closely with local and global Engineering and Program Teams to ensure that product capabilities and development priorities align with application needs.
- Prepare information and present to Steering Committee in support of project gate reviews, ensuring that commercial and market considerations are accurately represented.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing and Industrialization Teams on capacity planning, cost initiatives, and operational readiness for major program launches.
- Collaborate with Marketing on application-focused technical collateral, launch materials, value propositions, and competitive benchmarking.
- Act as the internal "voice of the customer" for application-level needs, performance requirements, and program timing.
- Lead internal alignment on local application strategy, including training, value messaging, and competitive differentiation for the commercial team.
- Oversee financial results for the Energies business in North America, including revenue growth, margin, cost competitiveness, and profitability improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain forecasts by product, customer, and application.
- Track KPIs, including program acquisition rate, application penetration, quote performance, margin progression, and customer adoption trends.
- Other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in business development, product management, sales, or commercial leadership.
- Experience leading projects/programs, and small teams preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business results.
- A solid understanding of the solar industry, including various methods, materials, and market trends, is essential for identifying potential opportunities and making informed business decisions.
- Experience working in multicultural/international environments – experience in matrix organizations, global/regional contexts, preferred
- Track record in successfully engaging internal/external customers remotely, effectively communicating with team members, customers, vendors both in an impactful elevator-pitch or deep and detailed formats.

Minimum Salary: $180,000
