SUMMARY
This position is located in Santa Cruz, California and is in office position. This position is responsible for providing application support and collaborating with Customer Sales in the design, development, and manufacturing processes as a subject matter expert for the ARaymond product line. Concurrently, this position is responsible for all phases of product and system testing, including test protocol definition, conducting testing, writing reports, as well as laboratory management, and improvement of the testing capabilities.
- Provides technical assistance to customer engineering with all technical information and performance requirements necessary to include our product in the System.
- Provide technical support to Account Managers and Product Engineering.
- Work directly with customer engineering, support customer meetings, and highly maintain presence at the customer.
- Regularly support customer visit with Sales to discuss ongoing projects including areas of concern & future needs, recommend specific product/service solutions to meet these needs.
- Review customer RFQ’s as necessary, confirm acceptability of dimensions, tolerances and material selections.
- Take charge of Product certification, internally or in liaison with certifying bodies (UL, Intertek, CSA, etc.)
- Be the first point of contact for testing date requests from Customers’ Principal Engineers.
- Provide engineering support to Program Management and the APQP process.
- Assist with any quality issues on current production parts including our response to customer concerns/complaints with part performance.
- Collaborate with other ARaymond entities and test facilities.
- Participate in Technical Committees and Seminars to collect and influence future Standard requirements.
- Participate to Product Design and Specifications with Product Development and Product Manager.
- Translate Customers’ and Application requirements in various Testing Protocols.
- Organize and maintain Laboratory equipment to complete validation as per the Testing Protocols.
- Setup and conduct Testing activities (Product validation or exploratory testing) while ensuring Personnel and Equipment safety.
- Build appropriate test report and Documentation logging the findings and results.
- Recommend product and system improvements to meet Product Performance.
- Participate or Author Technical documentation, or White Papers to provide proof of the Products’ Performance to the Marketplace.
- All other activities as assigned.
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- 3 years of experience with knowledge of engineering concepts and principles.
- Relevant experience in DoE, test fixtures designs.
- Highly developed communication skills both oral and written. Must be able to organize, analyze, and present data to multi levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
- Time management ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and sustain a strong working relationship with customers internal and external
- A track record showing a commitment to customer service, successful teamwork and product development, and continuous quality improvement in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Experience with CAD (CATIA V5) is desired.
- Exposure or experience in Solar (Utility-Scale or Commercial) is desired.
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience in Metal Production (Stamping, Bending, Heat treatment & Coatings…)
- Sales experience
- Knowledge of Metal grades
- Frequent sitting.
- Operating test equipment, carrying weights up to 50Lbs.
- Use of computer with repetitive mouse use, keyboarding and visual demands.
- Must be able to work in the office (currently 3x/week) for collaborative purposes.
- Travel up to 10% locally and nationally.
