  • Manage shot size balance between materials, transfer timing between first and second shot, mold rotation, indexing, or transfer mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot common molding defects (short shots, flash, sinks, warp) and diagnose more advanced defects (delamination, poor adhesion, flow imbalance) by following systematic troubleshooting procedures including stopping the process when nonconforming material is detected.
  • Install, configure, calibrate, and remove all robots and auxiliary equipment (thermolators, hot runner controllers, etc.).
  • Work with Process Engineers to improve process development and other continuous improvement activities aimed at cycle-time reduction and process stability.
  • Perform dry ice blasting, mold cleaning, and apply appropriate mold release agents.
  • Provide coaching and technical direction to molding technicians and support staff.
  • Coordinate with schedulers, material handlers, and other departments to meet production and shipping requirements.
  • Maintain organization and readiness of die-setting stations (supports SMED initiatives).

  • Maintain accurate tool and equipment records, including housekeeping conditions of machines and peripherals.
  • Work overtime as needed and perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
