Position Summary: 

The Business Development Manager - Construction serves as the primary strategic and technical liaison between the company and our key clients. Thriving at the intersection of engineering and commerce, the incumbent acts as a trusted advisor who diagnoses technical challenges and architect solutions, from our portfolio or customized. This role leads the technical discovery process, simplifies complex concepts for stakeholders at all levels, and leverages expert relationship-building skills to negotiate and close high-impact deals. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Manages the business development and performance of the construction segment for the local organization including long term vision, product roadmap, CSR objectives, budget and associated KPI setting and achieving. 
  • Provides direction and states goals, targets, expectations, and mentoring to the sales and engineering team to ensure overall business plan goals and requirements are met. 
  • Responsible for the collaboration efforts within the engineering and sales teams of ARaymond, capturing new product and application opportunities, identifying range extension opportunities, and specifying market requirements for the next generation of products.  
  • Supports the Engineering, Industrialization, and Leadership with IP portfolio management and product design quality, new product design, industrialization, new supplier and new material selection and validation, suppliers’ contract after consultation with network supply chain and quality; and the application of global design standards and flows defined by global network. 
  • Pursues new customer opportunities, while developing/growing long-term relationships, providing sales leadership, from cradle to grave, including product research, requirements, costing feedback, offer construction, negotiation, serial life management, as necessary for select customer base. 
  • Responsible of all aspects of the technical methodologies of products and effective communication with clients, engineers, and project teams and provides technical advice to the department, coaching, and mentoring as needed. 
  • Responsible for pricing, costing and forecasting including support and collaboration with other regions for global products. 
  • Responsible for products promotions after consultation with marketing. 
  • With support of the leadership team, responsible for preparation of local business plans, P&L budgets, and schedules 
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance specific to industry standards, regulations, and permitting requirements to meet all necessary legal and safety standards.  
  • Other related duties and/or projects as assigned. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales 
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, Product Development Processes, preferred related to Conceptualization, Planning, Design and Engineering of fasteners solutions. 
  • Solid understanding of the construction panelization industry, including various methods, materials, and market trends, is essential for identifying potential opportunities and making informed business decisions, preferred.  
  • Proven experience in engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions. 

Skills 

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills to establish and maintain partnerships with clients, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of eco-friendly and green building practices. 
  • Demonstrated strategic and/or product marketing skills: Customer/product scoring, metrics, action plan, product portfolio management, marketing tools (SWOT, McKinsey matrix, VOC, Persona, etc.). 
  • Demonstrated strong level of organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated capability to successfully engage internal/external customers remotely, across different time-zones. 
  • Proven track of creative or unique problem solving with Patents record. 
  • Interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with subordinates, customers, vendors both in an impactful elevator-pitch or deep and detailed formats. 
  • MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Demonstrated professional conduct during stressful circumstances to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
