This position will support the project manager by providing reliable and innovative solutions for new advanced assembly processes, as well as providing necessary and relevant project information to the customer and supplier. The 3D-CAD Designer creates autonomously 3D design and drawings of parts and assemblies from the initial idea to the final design. This includes the assembly, tests and optimization of the parts or prototypes if required.

Role and responsibilities
  • Independent execution of design works according to specifications, sketches, and drafts
  • Design and optimization of manual assembly tools regarding economic and ergonomic aspects and requirements
  • Dimensional, visual and functional control of own and other drawings
  • Supporting the assembly and optimization of prototypes
  • Planning, conduction and evaluation of tests and measurements
  • Planning and controlling of projects parts or project components
  • Contact with supplier, to be the interface between design-team and supplier concerning data transfer and technical topics
  • Scouting for new technologies and components
  • Taking care for the machinery directive and preparing CE certificate
Education and experience
  • Expert in general engineering/mechanics or similar or equivalent education (Engineer degree general engineering/mechanics, experienced technicians, CAD Designers)
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position would be appreciated
  • Experience in creating 3D CAD-data-models (Creo preferred) and Office applications
Skills
  • Self-driven, well organized and detail and solution orientated
  • Team-oriented and flexible, “get it done” mindset
  • Willingness to travel for occasional customer and supplier visits
  • Project management skills (Technics & tools)
  • Ability to work on international projects
  • Fluent in German
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

The entity Rayce Assembly and Process Solutions (APS) is, amongst other topics, developing systems and tools to enable, support and optimize customers assembly processes and provide them the best solution for their application to assemble ARaymond fasteners. These projects are realized by a highly motivated, small team on a national and international level, the project partners are ARaymond Network companies and / or customer.
