Role and responsibilities

Key Result Areas 
 Responsible for mold cost estimation based on factors like – Machine tonnage, Cycle time, gross weight etc. 
 Measure and rate supplier performance, and be ultimately responsible for supplier problem resolution. Conduct 
cross-functional review of current and potential supplier performance with quality, engineering, cost accounting, 
project management and logistics. These reviews coordinate problem resolution, new business awards or 
resourcing. 
 Drive innovation and cost savings.
 Should be able to lead group of team members.
 Should have good analytical skills. 
 Responsible to improve supplier skills. 
 Prepare MIS report & discuss timely with reporting manager. 
 Maintaining awareness and adherence about applicable information security policies and procedures.
 Ensuring information they use or information under their custody is adequately protected as per ARaymond 
information security expectations 
 Responsible for conducting the new project feasibility study from the tooling prospective. 
 Responsible for mold design Review & approval
 Responsible for Getting mold Design DFM & Mould flow Reports from suppliers and get it approved by Respective 
engg person & also intimate possible issue can occur as a proactive action to have FTR. 
 Responsible for in house mold trials & Trouble shooting. 
 Mold development procedure creation, modification and validation whenever required. 
 Responsible to solve internal mould issues (new Mould).

Responsible to do mould physical validation of the mould as per AR Checklist at Supplier end before ship the tool 
to AR Works. 
 Responsible for project closing from tooling prospective 
 Responsible for preparing the cost break up for new lunching mould to help Purchase to Negotiate with suppliers. 
 Responsible for getting weekly updates from suppliers & updating to respective OPM. 
 Development of Proto Tools & Products 
 Provide on-site support for tool builds and mold tryouts 
 Work with Engineering to lead design reviews and complete tooling refinement during development/validation 
 Help Product Engineering to industrialize the Product for simplifying the mould construction. 
 Work with Process Engineers /Production supervisors to resolve issues and maintain tool condition for the life of tooling

 

Education and experience

B.E/ B.TECH/ Diploma in Tool & Die making with specialization in Mould Development Professional or Certifications Tool & Die making experience of 7- 8 Years

Skills

Extensive knowledge on key mold manufacturing processes (EDM, CNC, etc.,) and machining rates 
 Extensive knowledge on mould construction
 Work within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope to manage risk and ensure adherence to established 
processes and methodologies through: 
- Interaction with BD,OPM, suppliers, and internal resources 
- Demonstration of advanced knowledge in Mould design 
- Mentoring other engineers & Mentoring them 
- Defining and managing scope, time and cost for complex projects or programs 
- Identifying risks, taking responsibility for mitigation actions, and managing mitigation plan
 Should have good knowledge of Injection Molding Process. 
 Should have good knowledge of Mold Design Concepts
 Should have good knowledge of Polymer Materials rheology and Thermodynamics. 
 Should have experience in Plastic Part and Mold Development Process. 
 Should have experience of resolving injection molding problems like weld lines, sink marks, warpage using 
simulation. 
 Strong Results interpretation and communication skills. 
 Proven work experience in mould building 
 Analytical thinker with interpersonal skill 
 Knowledge of process related standards 
 Ability to work autonomously or as a contributing team member. 
 Able to provide technical guidance to manufacturing team members. 
 Work with Product Engineering to improve design and or manufacturing process. 
 Able to handle multiple projects at one time. 
 Effective verbal and written communication skill as well as excellent interpersonal skills. 
 Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. 
 Proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
