President Impressed by “Chnopfi”
As part of his regional visit, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited our ARaymond site in Lörrach on July 1st. The focus of the visit was our training workshop, direct exchanges with apprentices, and the importance of vocational education in securing a skilled workforce for the future.
During a tour of the training facilities, the Federal President took time to speak with our apprentices, dual-study students, and trainers. He showed particular interest in their educational journeys, their motivation for pursuing technical careers, and their future prospects at ARaymond.
Our young talents shared their experiences within the company and demonstrated how ARaymond inspires young people to explore technical professions from an early stage. This includes initiatives such as partnerships with local schools, participation in career fairs, Girls’ Day activities, and a wide range of regional community engagements. Depending on the time of year, between 70 and 100 young people are currently completing an apprenticeship or dual-study program at our German locations.
Showing a President How It’s Done—A Truly Special Moment for Our Apprentices
In addition to the personal exchange, the Federal President gained hands-on insight into our training workshop. Together with our apprentices, he manufactured a workpiece using both a conventional milling machine and a CNC milling machine. To conclude the visit, he produced a snap fastener – a small memento of his time at a company whose history is closely linked to the development of this iconic fastening solution.
The Federal President’s visit was a special recognition of the commitment and dedication shown by everyone involved. It highlighted the vital role that vocational training, talent development, and technical innovation play in securing the future of Germany as an industrial hub.
We would like to thank Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for his visit and for his genuine interest in the people who shape ARaymond every day.
