Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Controlling, the plant controller is responsible for overseeing financial planning, cost control, margin analysis and compliance activities for ARaymond Fluid Handling North America (Rayconnect) location. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports operational efficiency, and acts as a key liaison between the plant and corporate finance teams. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leads plant-level controlling activities including cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Oversees cost accounting for manufacturing activity, including annual standard cost roll per NCCP guidelines and inventory valuation.
  • Analyzes existing discrepancies between the standard cost and the actual cost and promotes actions to help improve the company's profitability.
  • Drives contribution margin analysis and supports strategic pricing decisions. 
  • Leads cost improvement initiatives and supports continuous improvement programs.
  • Develops and monitors KPIs to evaluate financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinates intercompany transactions and ensures compliance with international and local regulations. 
  • Assists in inventory valuation, depreciation, and LCM (Lower of Cost or Market) adjustments.
  • Identifies the main variations in inventory, as well as evaluates transportation costs.
  • Leads project accounting and capital expenditure tracking as well as monitoring the actual costs of the projects vs. the plan.
  • Participates in projects and product quotes to provide the necessary financial information to help support decision making.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams.
  • Provides financial insights and recommendations to plant leadership for strategic decision-making. 
  • Leads the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Collaborates with operations to analyze production costs and capital expenditures.
  • Utilizes ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for financial data management and reporting.
  • Participates in the financial closing of the month.
  • Approves requisitions and establishes budget controls as needed.
  • Active participation in continuous improvement processes.
  • Supports master data team on projects as needed. 
  • Work and closely collaborate with plant personnel and both the regional and global finance teams 
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in controlling or cost management
  • Minimum of two (2) years leading an accounting or finance team
  • Experience using ERP Systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially plastic injection molding or high-speed assembly preferred

Skills

  • Ability to work closely with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost accounting principles, contribution margin analysis, and inventory control.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and process integrity.
  • Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Current knowledge of accounting laws, practices, and principles.
  • Strong leadership skills including coaching and performance management.
  • Professional demeanor and ethical conduct, including handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work onsite four (4) days per week.
