Position Summary:

The Material Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services that drive operational success. This position is responsible for direct purchasing activities, building strong supplier relationships, and implementing cost-saving strategies to support organizational goals. Acting as a key liaison between suppliers, corporate teams, and internal stakeholders, the Material Analyst ensures timely procurement, maintains compliance with company standards, and continuously improves processes to strengthen the supply chain.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all direct purchasing activities for the organization to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. 
  • Prepare and manage weekly release schedules for all direct suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up. 
  • Monitor and expedite orders as needed to maintain production flow and meet deadlines. 
  • Implement cost-control measures for direct purchases, including transportation and logistics optimization. 
  • Collaborate with the corporate purchasing team to evaluate vendor performance and strengthen the supply base for the plant and North American region. 
  • Maintain accurate and organized departmental records in compliance with company standards. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to meet organizational needs and resolve issues promptly. 
  • Continuously assess and improve departmental and team procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Identify process deficiencies and implement corrective actions to ensure operational excellence. 
  • Coordinate with peers across group companies to leverage resources and share best practices. 
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports summarizing activities, identifying trends, and recommending improvement actions. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing or procurement. 
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor and uphold ethical standards, including handling confidential information with discretion. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Skills
  • Experience in the automotive industry. 
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems. 
  • Familiarity with international logistics and global supply chain processes.
  Physical Demands
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods. 
  • Frequent use of a computer, including repetitive keyboarding, mouse operations, and sustained visual focus. 
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs. as needed.
