Develops manufacturing methods and processes; investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing problems during the development, production and revision phases. Including; implementing requirements for machinery, tooling, materials, or design for efficient production. Where possible liaise with global colleagues to ensure mutual goals are attained and best practices are leveraged.

Role and responsibilities

Develops manufacturing methods and processes.

Observes and provides analysis for current and future processes with the goal of improving safety, efficiency, ergonomics and cost within the process or equipment.

Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, or methods of manufacturing.

Assists in facility layout as required for new or revised products.

Helps plan, design, and detail floor layout for efficient production.

Provide technical assistance to the Manufacturing Operations.

Interprets policies and requirements in terms of established objectives.

Identify deficiencies and institute corrective actions (i.e., equipment, training, work methods, etc.).

Provides recommendations for improvements in order to meet program objectives.

Work with and satisfy requests of other departments.

Prepare and publish reports as directed.

Ability to travel locally and internationally as required.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and experience

4-Year Technical Engineering degree or technical relating Manufacturing Engineering degree. A minimum of 4 year’s experience as a Manufacturing Engineer preferred.

 

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with customers and vendors.

Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment, employing good time management and decision making skills.

Ability to be organized and manage multiple priorities at one time. Knowledge of the Automotive Industry Knowledge of metal fasteners.

Familiarity with OEM standards.

Familiarity with processes of progressive metal stamping, quality control, and performance testing.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Demonstrated strong level of organizational skills.

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

Achievement of continuous improvement targets.

Completing projects within budget.

Strong computer skills proficient with Microsoft Office, SAP, and other Engineering related software.
