In an effort to increase speed to market, timely quote activity and cost competitiveness, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for costing, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects within areas of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through functional support groups.

Función y responsabilidades

  • Plans and formulates new business costing opportunities and organizes project staff according to project requirements
  • Assists project team to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product and process design, preparation of specifications, technical plans, in support of product and technology costing.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with costing, technical developments, and resolving issues affecting new business opportunity outputs. Provides leadership to organize consolidated manufacturing inputs into the costing system.
  • Directs integration of technical activities with product development (Engineering team).
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Engineering Support Manager on project management activities.  Prepares interim and completion project reports as needed.
  • Collaborates with Senior Cost Estimator in support of activities involving Tool Engineering, Production, Sales, Design Engineering, purchasing and suppliers.
  • Partners with Sales department and Design Engineering on value added products.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Formación y experiencia

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technical.
  • MS in Engineering preferred.
  • 6 years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and/or complaints from colleagues, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong mathematical conceptual knowledge.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and reach valid conclusions.
  • Must have the ability to travel locally as necessary.
