Interface with customer for requirements for new/improved plastic/metal components for auto industry. Job based in Rochester Hills, MI. Fully understand customer needs and requirements for new and/or improved products. Provide technical support to Account Managers and Customers. Develop design proposals that meet the customer’s requirements. Validate new concepts through performance testing on prototype or similar parts. Generate all required documentation (DFM, DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.). Review customer RFQ’s, confirm acceptability of dimensions, tolerances and material selections. Provide engineering support to Program Management and the APQP process. Communicate with the customer to update them on current status and technical issues regarding projects that are in the APQP system. Maintain/update information into Windchill (V1). PCP Management, supporting SE-Team(V2) generate/update timeline (I-Planet) from Gate 1 through Gate 3 in MS Project. Lead the effort on all Engineering Changes (E/C) required for improved performance, to address manufacturing concerns or to validate alternate materials. Assist with any quality issues on current production parts including our response to customer concerns/complaints with part performance. Maintain relationships with engineering organizations of our customers, suppliers and OEM’s. Track the status of all assigned projects and provide updates as requested. Develop and execute internal Design standards. Collaboration with other AR-Engineering Center (Europe, Asia and others). Supporting Global activities where needed.
